What is a rolling diaphragm

The rolling diaphragm is like a sharpened cone and like a hat. When externally pressurized, the diaphragm can be freely rolled or unrolled. The pressure is applied almost entirely by the piston head. Only a small fraction of the pressure is provided by the rolling diaphragm. Due to the differential pressure, the diaphragm is constantly reciprocating. The side that is in direct contact with the liquid is definitely more stressed than the other side, so the diaphragm may break during movement. In other words, please do not move the anti-rotation lever by hand unless applying different pressure to move it. When you remove the triaxial pressure chamber, you will see the rolling diaphragm clamped to the sleeve plate.
